End of 2025 season celebrations
2nd December: Today a thanksgiving lunch for some of our wonderful Falling Fruit volunteers. This year we saved approximately 2,500 Kilos of apples from going to waste! In three days we collected 1,000 Kilos of apples, a record! Our event was generously hosted by FoodCloud Kitchen at the Hub in Tallaght. Chef-extraordinaire Janice Down treated us to delicious food and tempting treats. Our meal was complemented by Cloudy Apple Juice, made with apples picked by our volunteers themselves. A huge thank you to all at FoodCloud — especially CEO Aoibheann O’Brien, to Rosie Fuller and organisers Karen Capcarrere, Janice Down, and Adriana — for making this gathering possible. Your support means a lot to us, and we are deeply grateful to you.
Our warmest thanks and appreciation from the whole Falling Fruit team!

Celebrating 10 Years
Falling Fruit Ireland started its gleaning project in 2015 and completed ten harvests in 2024. It has been a huge success due, first and foremost, to our wonderful volunteers. They are the backbone of the project – giving freely and generously of their time, efforts, transport and support and always with heartwarming kindness and friendliness!
In December 2024 we had our first celebrations, after completing our tenth harvest, to appreciate these wonderful volunteers. Unfortunately, not all volunteers were able to make it to the celebration events. Hopefully many more celebration events will take place this year, 2025.
