October 22nd
A beautiful day for harvesting the hundreds of apples at UCD orchard. Many thanks to David who welcomed us in to pick the apples for juicing. The powerful team – Anne, Claire, Deirdre, Eugene, Ilona, Kintilla, Marcella, Marielle, Mary1, Mary2, Michael, Patricia – did stellar work for three hours to gather the apples. October 18th
Also this week Gabriele in Co. Wexford offered a donation of eating apples. The fruit was collected by Carmen and will be put to good use for families in need.

Fabulous weather for apple picking at Pearse College Horticulture thanks to Ena for inviting us. Our two volunteers, Marcella and Dick, with great help from students, filled two crates of apples in quick time. Apples will be used to make crabapple jelly for school meals. Two more apple donations this week. Garrett from Co. Wicklow brought apples to Dublin. Our dedicated helper, Deirdre, collected them from him and delivered to Rosemount FRC.

Magical Monday, delightful Dalkey, best Bramley apples – thanks to Marybeth and Michael Shiels. September 25th
This weekβs fourth apple pick took place in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, thanks to our generous donor, Frances Reilly. Her trees were laden with fruit, and she was determined not to let it go to waste. Within no time, Team Dunboyne β Ed, Eugene, Michael, and Paul β filled crate after crate. The harvest was distributed to local charities including Feed Dublin in Tyrrelstown, Blanchardstown Centre for Independent Living, and Networking Dublin 15. Our second picking event took place in Rathgar. Our kind donor, for the fourth year, Barbara Fleming, offered her eating apples and cooking apples. The fabulous team – Anne, Geraldine, Mary, Sonal, made quick work of the picking. An exciting boost for Falling Fruit today – RTEβs Nationwide crew came to film our work this morning. Our host, Barbara was very accommodating. Thereβs nothing not to like about Mondays when youβre in the company of wonderful kind helpful people. Our two teams today did an amazing job! Patricia and Mary picked some delicious cooking apples in Glenageary, thanks to Aislinn who donated her entire tree. Patricia kindly delivered several boxes to SVP in Donnybrook.
Second donation was from Lisa Na Carrig House in Foxrock. Our wonderful volunteers were fastidious in selecting the best apples for the charities. Sandra, Kintilla, Geraldine, Brendan and Mary picked nine trees! Delicious eating and cooking apples went to Shankill Charity thanks to Sandra, Dublin Simon and Mendicity Institution. A kind new driver team member, Erinna, delivered to both charities (and even delivered Bernie to the Luas station!)It is moving to experience the goodness, kindness and generosity of so many people. A wonderful day in a beautiful garden and our target reached-1000 Kilos of apples picked in three days. My heart is full of appreciation and admiration for our dedicated helpers – especially Deirdre and Josephine who gave three days for this task. We couldnβt have achieved it without them and also Michelle and Eugene today. The location was the RHSI Walled Garden at Russborough House. The garden volunteers helped us pick 300 Kilos of apples and included us in lunch. Very impressed by the incredible spirit of everyone involved. The apples go to FoodCloud for juicing.![]()

A fabulous apple-picking day in Donnybrook! Today was day one of our three-day drive to collect one ton of apples for juicing.
